You'd do yourself a favor by finding out about some of the 'weeds' as many have far more feed value than many pasture and hay grasses.Beggars Lice as was mentioned makes excellent hay.As Joel Salatin another Virginian states in one of his books a good pasture or hay field will have at least 25 species of plants growing in it over the course of a year.I'd rather have hay with some 'weeds' in it than hay that's had chemicals dumped on it for sure.Also what plants are growing in your hay field can tell you more about the soil in it than any soil test will ever tell you.
