The Oliver 1600-1655 is good, but don't be afraid to go a little bigger and step up to an 80 hp tractor like a 1750/1755.
Massey had good tractors too. We use our Massey 285 on the haybine and baler. Plenty of weight to control a baler and heavy load. Those still hold their value pretty good, but 10,000 should get you a pretty good 285. Otherwise look at a 175 or 180, 265, or 275.
$5000 would be more than enough to get you a good Oliver. I like how high you sit on the higher up rowcrop tractors like the Olivers, but the 285 works just fine too.
