If you put it inside DON'T I repeat DO NOT put it just inside the door.
We had rented a shop that had the hydrant just inside the door. Dang thing froze up with alarming frequency. Cold air would blow in through the door seal and if I had left the hydrant on it would freeze. I had a sink plumbed into the hydrant so leaving it on was a option. When we built I had learned my lesson and put the hydrant about 12 feet in from any outside wall. I have even had to dig this one up including busting up concrete. My suggestion is if you put it inside do it like you are putting it in a basement in a house.
