The only thing I see different is that the 1500 comes only with the battery clip cord, while the 1510 also comes with the fused ring terminal cord for permanent mounting.
Way back 10 years ago, the 12117 used to come with both cords, but lately the ring terminal cord was an option that cost another $8.
