The trucks that pull these are incredible, I used to live down the road from Mal-Bros near Wayne NJ, remember applying for a job there when I first moved to the area and walked by one of these behemoths, I've run some heavy spec AutoCar trucks, one with a 60 ton Rogers lowboy, but they looked like toys compared to what was in their yard. No website, but some photos on the web, talk about custom built heavy spec trucks, the tires on some of them, were just huge compared to a more common truck.

The other one that comes to mind in NJ is J Supor & Son, probably still a common site in NJ, used to see both on highway jobs at times.

Another, whom I knew personally, Larry Hisko, (Hisko Lowboy Service - Farmingdale, NJ) he worked for Foley in Piscataway, NJ, I used to see him often at the yard, what a deal he had, worked at Foley and was almost proprietary for doing their hauling. We used to do a lot of business with Foley and I sure hauled a lot of big heavy equipment in and out of that yard, D8K's with 4BBL rippers, D8N's on rental etc. I believe he is deceased, I still have his business card in the collection somewhere, was a pleasure knowing him, once in awhile he hauled for us, brought a 920 loader to our yard for the pipe crew, it had a side dump bucket for stone pipe bedding. Ran into him one time with a 245 excavator on a beam trailer, and I thought the 235's I used to move were big, that thing was huge. We had a 350L at another place, was about the only thing I've ever ran or moved that was about as big. Those were the days, spent a lot of time moving equipment in central and south Jersey. I've got some photos of the rig I ran somewhere and me on some of the sites, we started using disposable cameras, wish I had done that sooner with all the sites I was on, the moves I made and the equipment I operated in NJ

Today's Featured Article - Memories of an IH Super A When I was ? up to 10, I worked on my Papaw's farm in Greeneville, TN every summer. As I grew older (7), it was the thrill of my day to ride or drive on the tractor. My Papaw had a 1954 IH Super A that he bought to replace a Cub. My Papaw raised "baccer" (tobacco) and corn with the Super A, but the fondest memory was of the sawmill. He owned a small sawmill for sawing "baccer" sticks. The Super A was the powerplant. When I was old enough (7 or 8), I would get up early and be dressed to ... [Read Article]
