Quoting Removed, click Modern View to seeA lot of the pre-55 stuff has the filler on the passenger side. 30-40s cars only had a key hole on the passenger side door handle. The reason was.....it was safer to enter the car from the passenger side...back when parallel parking on busy streets was more common. Could also be the reason the gas filler was on the passenger side. If you ran out of gas on the side of the road it would be safer to be on the passenger side adding gas.
