My Super C did that, about gave me fits until it quit one overcast day when I knew the gas tank was nearly empty. Thought that it might have run out of gas, so I opened the fill cap & looked in the tank w/flash light. There was the paperboard cap off of the lid of something (like a jug "heet" ?) inside the tank covering the fuel line inlet. (Not enough gas in the tank to allow it to slosh away.) Fished it out of there with push button grab-claw & haven't had a problem since. (Probably helps that the carb had been thoroughly cleaned, sediment bulb assembly replaced, new points, condenser & coil while I was trying to trouble-shoot the problem.) Bottom line, be sure to check the tank for things other than rust! (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
