The concentrate hopper was not added as an afterthought....for a very good reason. Vitamins, and especially protein, are degraded by the heat of grinding when you run it through a hammermill. Can literally destroy all of their feed value.
I normally added supplements while the bin auger was running, but if you"re shoveling grain by hand, add them after a good portion of the grain is in. Adding at the beginning, it may stay at the bottom of the tank rather than be mixed into the feed.
