Back in the late 90's I was coming south out of Alberta, when I got to where I could see the U.S. border there were about a dozen cops standing there drinking coffee. I looked around and the only truck to be seen was me, figured I was going to be the object lesson for the day. When I got close one cop stepped away from the crowd, took a quick look and waved me through. I don't know if it was because I kept the equipment clean and legal or they didn't want to interrupt a good BS session. That was as close as I ever came to being checked during inspection weeks.
