: : Saw a large ad for China Diesel Imports tractors. Seems pretty cheap. Are they any good? : I can't honestly say anything about Chinese disels, however, I have been in the watch selling business for 10 years and have seen some major watch brands (Seiko being probably the most notable) that now have their watch bands made in China. I detest them. The fit & finish & ability of the parts to "snap" together is CLEARLY evident and the Chinese made bands are pieces of crap. Once the band is sized, you wouldn't know any difference, but to the person DOING the sizing, you can tell that the quality and "fit" isn't of the came league that it was when the bands were made in Japan. : I know this doesn't necessarily mean much in your context, but this is was such a revelation to me that if I ever have the choice to buy NON chinese I will. Nothing racist meant to them as a people, just the manufacturing capabilities. What I would worry about when it comes to buying a Chinese tractor would be if I could get parts down the road a few years. Here's why: China is communist, and they have been known to do things to anger the US before. Should tensions rise, embargoes could be put in place between the two countries. The Chinese factories can crank out as many parts as they want, but they'll be in China, your tractor will be here, and there won't be a way to get them together.
