All I hadda do was nab 'em, tip 'em up on their butt and hand 'em over to the shearing lady.
Did have one ram that did NOT like to be sheared. He was a handful, but the shearing lady said I'd be more hindrance than help if I tried to help her hold him so I just stood back and watched her rassle that bugger. Always gave them a little tip on top of their fee for that.
I've since switched to Katahdins which are a hair sheep. They just shed. And the ram has learned that if he's nice to me, I'll give him a good grooming/scratching a couple of times a day. Must itch like crazy when they're shedding. The first few times he came charging across the barnyard for a good scratch it made me a little nervous, but he's learned to slow down when he gets close.
Worst part is, the ewes want to be groomed too, but if one of them comes up to have me grab a few handfuls of loose hair, the ram gets all bent out of shape and bullies his way in between us.
