Our electricity use to go off every time the weather man just predicted rain. The power company did a lot of work in the area as more people moved in the area so not it very seldom goes off. Usually now if it goes off it is really a problem and takes days for it to come back on.
I have a gas generator that is about 6000 watts. It will not run my central air so I put a small window unit in my bedroom. With the generator running that window unit; my fridge and deep freeze; I can survive for days on end without real electricity.
