My observation is worth just what you had to pay to get it - but here it is.
My brother-in-law has a Belarus 250 tractor and a five foot tiller that he bought at TSC. When the tractor is actually running, he can successfully use the tiller. He runs in first gear, on purpose, so that the tiller will do a very thorough job of mulching up the dirt.
He is not a good mechanic in any way. He has lots of problems with his tractor and he doesn't have the skills or determination to fix the problems as they occur. Consequently, he has only used the tiller a couple of times successfully. However, I attribute that to his inability to maintain the tractor, not the relationship between the tractor size and the tiller size.
If your tractor is performing well, I would guess that it will till well.
