Grew more than my pit could hold last year, and it was a silage variety, so it would not stand well for dry down, and combine. So it needed to be chopped. I also had some grain corn,. I put the silage corn in a bag, and filled the rest of the bag from the grain crn field. Bag holds 360 tones , I feed one ton per day, so next winters crop is already in the bag ! Didn't want to grow grain corn at the low price this year, so I have planted more spring grain. Straw has become a very pricey thing in these parts.
