My 1977 cub has a black rubber hose for the breather. Found out that it fits into the "good luck" files. It is a special order form the local IH dealer and is like $50.OO A pop! The carb end of mine was all rotten. I have the Bendix/zenith carb with the 1 1/4 inch opening. Later model. Down at the local NAPA we started looking through the hose book. If I remember it is a hose that fits the Ford v8 engines in early 80s-90s. NAPA part #7865. Gives you the 1 1/4 and the 1 inch at the top. I cut the hose just above the bend and screwed in a one inch pipe stub with plenty of dish soap. Stick it in boiling water for about ten minutes and it will relax a little. With the careful fitting up by the oil bath filter it looks almost tractor police prefect! When you tighten the clamp on the carb you want to bias the hose outwards about ten degrees. This makes a good gap between the hose and the manifold. So far it is a thing of BEAUTY!! Just need another clamp. Hope this helps fellow CUB owners!

Some purist I'm sure will disagree to no end with what I will tell you but most of us out here in the real world don't really care do we ? Some of them only bring their noses down out of the air long enough to look down them anyway. If you are like me you are only doing this old tractor stuff because you enjoy it. You
