Went to my Doctor for the same symptoms, he ordered x-rays cause I also stated my neck sometimes pops/grinds and hurts. The x-rays confirmed that I have degenerated discs C4-C6.
Basically he told me I do have carpal tunnel syndrome and will probably need surgery but the neck deal is priority. I did an MRI and am waiting on an appt with a Neurosurgen. I will also have to go through some of this for lower back problems too. Good Luck!
