Set your amps a bit higher then you would on most stuff. Make a single pass chip it off wire brush it if you can wait a bit then make a 2nd pass chip it wire brush it and do it again. Use a 7018 rod AC type. I could probably do it in my sleep but then I have been welding for decades both as a amateur and as one who did it for a living. Shoot I had to extend my Shop I-Beam, 7.5 feet last week to work on a big tractor and the test of all the welds was to hang it up and it is still hanging there right now
