The year was 1968 and I was hauling a load of road gravel locally in a 1963 Chevy short cab end dump when the front right hand spindle twisted off. I heard a noise and felt a vibration from the front and stepped on the brakes and stopped. I was about a 100 yards from the stop sign or intersection I had just left. Not real exciting, but think of the possibilities.
