About 20 years ago i went for a ride in a Cessna with my pilot cousin. We landed for fuel at a small strip in the Central Valley of California, and had lunch while they filled the plane. We took off andgot to about 2000 feet when a cat came screaming out from under the seat and began tearing around the cockpit, flipping switches and making us bleed trying to grab it. My cousin opened the window and the cat jumped out. We couldnt see it hit the ground.
Some years later i read that a NY Vet did a study concluding that cats that fell from the 4th floor and anything higher stood a much better chance of landing un-injured than those from lesser heights, as they relax and flatten out during the fall, slowing the descent.
Imagine you are having a BBQ on a peaceful Sunday under a clear and open sky on your farm. MrrrrrroooooooooWWWWWWWWA WHAM! WHOOSH, and a cat lands on the table and blasts across the yard
