ONe of our drivers just got nailed by PA DOT for not having a CDL or in Canada a AR for hauling a 14k rated car trailer, even though the trailer was empty! 25 year old officer said it did not matter about the actual weight on the trailer it was what it was capable of carrying? I had to send a driver with A license from Lindsay Ontario 6 hrs to pick up as he would not let truck and trailer move. He said if trailer was rated for 10 k it would be fine. I guess we will be buying a 10k trailer and loading it to the max! This makes no sense from a logic or safety perspective, but according to PA DOT THIS IS THE LAW??? Maybe the Ont. plates where the problem, as apparently they spent 2 hours going over the truck and trailer trying to find problems, and this is all they could come up with? Weird thing is No fine, but would not let him move.
