I had an Earth brand stove years ago that I purchased with water coils in it. It really heated the water. If you are using thermal siphon to move the water from stove to the tank, there are some measurements that are important as to how much higher the tank must be depending upon distance from stove. I also had solar panels at one time to pre heat hot water. The water coils in the stove made the hot water in tank really hot. It needs to have a pop off valve plumbed into the line in case pressure gets too high. I think my hot water tank had a thermostat on it that poped off once but was resettable. Water was definitely hot from tank in the winter.
