It's easy for political discussions and the like to get out of hand in a hurry. So in that regard it's probably good that they're not allowed. I'm not sure it's always necessary to delete them. Why not leave them up there, but just lock them down so no one else can add to them?
Profanity, for the most part is unnecessary. I don't mind if someone slips in a mild one once in a while, but I don't think anyone appreciates a string of F-bombs.
I am somewhat amused though when reading the site comments. Seems like all some people have to do is read through all the posts and tattletale on everyone else! Really?? Get a life, people!
