Allan: How much ground do you still plow??? Around here you just about never see any ground plowed anymore.
On my home farm the FSC says I am not allowed to plow any of it as it all is highly erodible land according to them. That is funny as we plowed it all of the time in years past and had little erosion. The crop strips and dams stop just about all erosion unless we get hammered with heavy rains. Even then the soil is mostly caught at the damns. I usually haul it back up to the top the next spring.
