So true! I ran into the same situation with park in my 1086. Couldn't hardly get it in or out of park. I had visions of pulling the floor out of the cab until I realized all I had to do was oil the roller between the levers in the cab. A couple of shots of oil had it going in and out of park almost effortlessly. Shifting an 86 series can be a bear if you don't use that oil can once in awhile but overall I don't think shifting them is the big clunky monster some people think it is. For loader work the left hand shifting is a plus. It's all in what you get used to.
