I've had a bit of everything, as did my father.
I tend to look for a tractor that will do what I want, regardless of color.
On the other hand, I had two bachelor uncles who farmed together. They were such John Deere freaks, they wouldn't even buy shortline aftermarket machinery. If John Deere didn't make it, they didn't need it.
For that reason, my father refused to own a piece of John Deere machinery for years. I've never owned a John Deere tractor, but at various times over the years I've owned John Deere combines, disc, plow, #5 sickle bar mower, (which I still have), etc.
