The ones that get me are the ones that I have heard over the years from experienced, trained mechanics that should know better. One of my favorites was which wheel is the "drive wheel" on a rear wheel drive car. The correct answer is the one that has the LEAST traction unless you have limited slip differential. Amazing how many would try to tell you that it was always one or the other. Another is the idea that if you do a valve job, the rings are going to fail because of the increased pressure in the cylinders.
