My wife and I go there every October. We spend one day and the night and then head to Springfield to the farm fest. Wife has a few stores she likes and we both enjoy a favorite restaurant. That said it aint what it used to be. After the tornado a few years back some places never rebuilt. Most of the shows now are families trying to get rich. You see very few tour buses anymore. Tunica hurt them when the casinos were built. You take a bus load of elderly women and there gonna gamble over listening to some kid sing. Big names are all gone.
The RFD theater is a nice place. The Veterans museum and Titanic are fun.A little pricey but it is fun. Went thru the farm museum for the first time last year.Nice new facility, much bigger then the old one but you only need to go once. It's a used car lot under roof.
Go see the water front.Get a ice cream and watch the fire show. I still like old town too.
