I know some people don't like it, but I prefer plastic on my round bales. It doesn't rot and leave a bunch of hay behind on every bale moved after they have sat for just a couple weeks. I always carefully remove ALL twine when feeding the bales, and never have problems. If you leave the plastic on the bale and just dump it in the ring and drive away, BIG mess as that stuff never decays. Also, the price is less than half that of sisal. For square, I prefer sisal. I only bale about 500-800 bales a year though so the cost is not all that big of a deal.
