I don't think an FE will work in a medium duty truck because the crank snout is different and the truck balancer will not work on it. The FE and FT cranks are different. Also the 429 isn't an Fe. It's a 385 series. The 410 Merc, 427 and 428 are FE's. I have a truck with a 534, has lots of low end torque. That series also had a 401 and a 477.
