When I do that here, they always come out and watch. I will say one thing, its possible for some winter kill this year for sure, the herd of 40+ has not been seen around in the vicinity for weeks, but I do see some scattered about. Snow is still up over my knees at this point.
Had a coyote (lets not bring that up again LOL !) casing the place here, grazed him one morning with a .308 at 100 yds, few spots of blood and clean tracks out, no blood trail, took the shot in a hurry right out the front door, with our land in the background, definitely time to sight in the newer ammo, something is off a little, he got the message I am sure. Just can't have em that close, given the vulnerability of a few things, people and small dogs etc. Have not seen him nor his tracks in my yard since, I think he moved into a 55 gallon drum on its side in my yard, buried in the snow just like a den, heavy tracks to and from, scat and it was about the largest one I have recalled seeing. The neighbor just missed running right into this one, with a pug on the leash.
