A pipeline is a two edged sword, I really do not know what farmers WANT a pipeline through their place. It disturbs the soil for several years and limits depths you can work up soil forever.
I work on the controls for several pipeline companies and believe they are very safe. A train is much riskier.
I also believe there is very little for the US in the Keystone pipeline, it is for Canada. I am concerned that the US will drop the ban on crude oil exports.
