A kid my cousin went to HS with had a late 60's Corvette. The thing was totalled when a dump truck ran over it in a parking lot. The isurance company bought him a replacement Vette. A year or so later (would have been 1978-79), there was a hail storm which had softball and bigger sized hail stones. We were at my uncles house when it hit. Uncles 1872 Buick "Land Yacht" was parked in the open, the Vette was beside it, next to a tree. The hail demolished the Corvette, and the buick suffered a couple small dents and the loss of it's hood ornament. They totalled the vette, and - again - bought him another. Then came the June 3rd, 1980 tornados - Grand Island, Nebraska got hit with 7 inside the city limits - HEAVY damage to a lot of the city (5 killed). The guy was out in the worst part of the storm, so decided to duck into a car wash. You guessed it - the car wash - and the vette - were destroyed.....Last I knew he drove a Plymouth after that.
