I borrowed a tandem truck from work to hauled a load of gravel home one time. On the return trip bringing the truck back the front tire blew out, the face of the tire peeled off but not completely so when it came around it ripped the fiberglass fender off the hood shredding it and pushed the bottom of the cab up into the passenger door, it was a mess. Of course I thought I'd be fired, I'd only worked there a little over a month. Monday morning when the owner came in I explained what happened and all he said was he was glad I didn't get hurt and this was why they carry insurance.
