Well said.Mike. My '50 "B' has one black JD gauge in it and the guy I bought it from owned it for the previous 35 yrs which would have made it 1970. He said he replaced that gauge when he got it with one from JD dealer. Asked if he could get white to match others and told no. It's part of the tractors history so it stays unless it goes bad. Also a piece of history is the original (un-recovered) steering wheel which proves the owners story about it being kept inside as long as he can remember. (yes I repaired a small crack by ea. spoke with epoxy but it's original) I know you can get very nice re-pops but everyone that ever owned/drove this tractor had their hands on that wheel. Can't re-produce that.
