I feel your pain on the color shift paint. I owned a 1996 Ford emerald mystic Cobra Mustang. Ford built 1,999 of them with that color and no more. The kicker was Ford owned that color. BASF was the only company that could mix it. If you needed any paint for repair you had to take your car and let a BASF rep look at it and verify that it was a true emerald mystic cobra. They would then mix enough paint for your repair and if there was any paint left, they took it back. Even though you paid for it, you wasn't allowed to keep it. The color shift paint was over $400.00 a pint back then. I would hate to know what it cost now.
