In my area of MN, it has to be a fair amount below -30 before canceling classes, and snow depth has to be enough for impassable roads. Usually 12" or more with drifting. We've had school several times where my 2500 4x4 truck was the only way I could get there, and then I was dragging bottom in drifts on the roads.
