If any of them are stupid enough to say those works in front of me,they'll be the sorriest people to ever draw a breath. I've lived right here on this farm all my life and I've never seen such prolonged cold as the last two years have been. If this keeps up,the cattle are going and I'm retiring. This is just getting to be too much.Not just record cold in the winter,but cold springs and early cold in the fall. The growing season from last frost to first frost is about record short.
They were saying two nights ago that the Great Lakes are 83% ice covered,compared to 82% a year ago,and the temps have been unbelievable cold since those numbers came out. Lake effect isn't even going to be a factor in pretty short order if there isn't any open water.

Today's Featured Article - Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
