This reminds of the blizzard of 78 hear in SW Ohio. I woke up at 6 am as usual (battery alarm clock) to get ready for high school, It didn't take long to figure out the power was off and it was cool in the house. I walked to the living room and there sat dad in his chair, WTF? Dad never calls off work? He took a sip of coffee and said good your up, Get dressed we got work to do, We're snowed in the house. What? Go to the front door. I went down to the front door (bi-level house) and opened it to see the snow was over the top of the storm door (it opened out of course). Well I got dressed and it was getting light out to see it was still snowing and the wind was really blowing. We spent the whole day digging a path from the back door (at the kitchen) to the front of the house threw 8 to 10 feet of snow and the next day digging a path from the house to the road. At this point I HATE SNOW! we were off school almost 3 weeks, No electric or phone for a week and we got with all the neighbors and started digging a path big enough for an old army jeep to get threw to the main road to town. We did clear a 1 1/2 mile path by hand that week. Oh the best part of all this was for the next 3 months I got to go to school on Saturday all day to catch up on all those missed days. I still remember the Blizzard of 78 and still hate to see snow. Bandit
