In Britain the country folk dressed in their best [Sunday] clothes to visit a major social gathering like a show. To-day they dress much more casually.
For the people who work for the dealers a tweed jacket, trousers, shirt & tie is still the normal dress code.
Manufacturers/importers of machinery area sales manager will dress in smart clothes or a suit with a shirt and company logo tie. Most also now have a fleece jacket with logo for everyday wear when calling on dealers. Many companies provide summer & winter outdoor jackets again with company logo on chest. Its to show who works for who.
When I worked for a plough manufacturer we were supplied with 2 pairs of coveralls with the company name on chest and across rear shoulders. One older [well used] pair for working on demonstrations in the farmers field or doing service work. The best new clean pair for wearing on the company site/land at ploughing matches or working events.
