None of you guys understand.

Ag subsidies aren't for farmers.

They are to have cheap abundant food supply.

It's not one bit about a fella with a tractor or pitch fork, or a mansion in town.

Its all about cheap food.

The city slickers want cheap food, and that is what they get with the govt farm bill.

Farmers are just along for the ride. They have no input nor help from all this.

It is to manipulate cheap food.

Look at my pie chart again. Its all about cheap food, not about farmers.

Every country does so. Europe it bound up so tight Mose can't export food to them, they subsidise the crap out of their farming.

Japan pours the money to their beef and fruit farmers.

China does things differently, they need to control labor more than food supply, so they subsidise the 5-10 acre labor intensive farms more then the bigger efficient farms.

South America has a couple dummies running their countries, they are trying to tax their farms to death, previously it was the one income stream those countries had to pull wealth into their countries but they are shooting themselves in the foot for now.

Africa is the place that just hasn't ever gotten it, and their ag - well total lack of ag - shows in spades.

Its global, agriculture is a tool to be manipulated.

All in all I prefer what we have here in North America by a long ways; but their sure would be room for improvement.

Anyhow, it is not about assising any farmers, not at all. Get that out of your head! ;)

Paul

Today's Featured Article - Field Modifications (Sins of the Farmer) - by Staff. Picture a new Chevrolet driving down the street without it's grill, right fender and trunk lid. Imagine a crude hole made in the hood to accommodate a new taller air cleaner, the fender wells cut away to make way for larger tires, and half of a sliding glass door used to replace the windshield. Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a ...
