In my opinion, Kubota is just about impossible to beat in the compact/sub-compact/utility market.
I bought a new Kubota compact tractor in 1994 and it has been the best significant purchase that I have made in my lifetime. In the 20+ years that I have owned it, it has needed absolutely nothing. Nothing, not a fuse, lamp or fan belt, just regular lube, oil and filters.
I've not owned a late model JD but have shopped them recently.
I have bought a couple new of Massey Fergusons in the past few years (never again) and can attest that they are NOT Kubotas.
