Was a 64K circuit between point A (AT&T) and point B (Verizon). It went through a Verizon SLCK-96 down the road by an airport and at 4:50 every morning, the power switched to generator for whatever reason, and then back to Edison. During that switch over, the SLCK would drop momentarily and then come back up. Most people out that rural were asleep and never noticed it. During that brief outage, our customers remote would drop and not recover. They'd open the funeral home in the morning, no phones. It took a while to get it fixed because it took a while for us at AT&T to get approval for our overtime, and then since it involved Verizon, it took longer because they then had to approve OT based upon a request from a competitor. Management never move smoothly. If it was left between us techs...
