It seems like every story you tell has some poor moron being taken advantage of by an evil BTO, or unscrupulous landlords, auctioneer or dealer and you are the one stalwart standing up for the defenseless. Doesn't anyone in your neck of the woods besides yourself have sense enough to look out for their own interests? I would shut the auction down and run the auctioneer off my place if I thought he was not taking care of business.
