I keep telling my wife and kids that there are no winners at an auction, only buyers.
Funnies one I ever saw was an Amish father son team at an auction. Both were using super squirrel secret bidding that the auctioneer knew. The father had his hand up on his chin with his index finger extended up by his nose and would move his finger over his cheek every time he wanted to bid, the kid would reach up and tug his left ear. Standing side by side they were both bidding on the same items without the other being aware of it. After it got down to just the 2 of them bidding they drove up the price with a couple of bids each before the father figured out what was going on! He was pretty upset!
