I keep a buffet (dish with dry food and a water dish) in the barn for my mousers. The water dish is heated (8 watts) during cold weather. The cats will come and go but the mice are no longer an issue. My mousers also take care of mice around the house and service my brother's barn which is approximately an 1/8 mile away.
I figure the food is a small price for the work they do.
