People today seem to think that most everything is winning or losing something. Nothing can be a good deal for both people anymore. One has to LOSE something for some else to WIN something in todays culture.
IF I EARN more money than someone else then THEY lost the money and I won the money in too many peoples opinion today.
How about the people that "snipe" the bids electronically in the last few seconds of an online auction. That seems a bit unseemly to me. I know many that "like" as they WIN something over the other bidders.
In several of the online equipment auctions the last 10 minutes of bidding is limited to those that have bid before. I like this better.
