One of the worst offenders is the insecticide Metasystox (The smell is enough to put you off using it actually) I know of a guy that was spraying his apple trees for aphids using that stuff with a knapsack sprayer. He came home after work and said to his wife "I must go and have a sit down I don't feel too good" She went into the kitchen to make some tea then went back in to see how her husband was feeling and he was dead! Apparently One of the straps on his sprayer had rubbed so hard onto the guys shoulder it had broken the skin and some of the chemical had gone into his bloodstream. After hearing that tale I flatly refused to use that horrible stuff ever again.
