Okay, after you clean it with your favorite solvent, stand it on end, pour oil inside it and see how fast it flows out. If it is slow to flow out it is not clean. Those micro screen filters are a PITA to clean. Although a light can shine through the filter, I find that their is often a waxy coating covering the screen. To get the wax coating off use hot, hot, hot water and soap along with compressed air to dissolve the wax and get it out of the screen. Rinse with clear hot, hot ,hot water and air dry before using.. PS: this is best done in the sink or out doors... LOL.
