Sorry to tell you , but there ARE transaction fees on credit cards. Normally, the MERCHANT pays them. In many cases, the merchant is not allowed to pass them on or to give discounts for cash. The thinking here is that the merchant's business will increase enough by accepting CCs to offset the extra cost of the fees. I have been on BOTH sides. Most merchants (especially the larger ones) cannot afford to do without credit cards. The fees are just invisibly added in to the cost of the product that the merchant sells as part of the cost of doing business.
