the turnips grew so well I Had to try everyway possible to use them,,,some of the recipes were a hit,some were a miss,but,,,it was an interesting challenge! I wish I could grow potatoes as easy as the turnip patch is,plus the seed for the entire patch was 3 dollars. Plant the patch,,,no cultivating,weeding or fertilizer,just harvest in the fall,all fall until heavy freeze.It is really easy and economical.Potato seed is somewhat expensive,you can grow them with straw cover,but straw is usually not cheap,and if you cultivate and hill the potaoes they need to be cultivated at least two times,plus the colorado potato beetles are a constant struggle,,,,so,,,,to make a long story,,,as unlikable as it is,the turnip is a very economical crop,,,,(this is an independant research,,,non scientific conclusion done by me,,,your results may vary) lol!
